Brass Eyelets
These are the cheapest eyelets and are generally used for tarps and covers of lower value. In certain conditions these eyelets can turn green over time as they oxidise then will “weep” a black colouration from them into the material they’re in.
Nickel Plated
These actually have brass bodies and are nickel plated afterwards. This prevents the weeping and are used for higher quality tarps/covers as they don’t rust.
Stainless Steel
These are made from 316 grade stainless and are generally used in marine and automotive upholstery applications where it is a standard to use 316 marine grade steel.
